Nick Cannon wants his ex-wife Mariah Carey back and he’s not afraid who knows it. The Masked Singer host opened up on his latest single “Alone.” The Valentine’s Day release is for Cannon’s upcoming R&B mixtape Raw N B: The Explicit Tape. Cannon and Carey married in the Bahamas in 2008 and divorced in 2016.
The internet is buzzing after hearing Cannon’s “Alone.” Cannon shares twins Moroccan and Monroe with Carey, and six other children with different women. Since their divorce, neither Cannon nor Carey have given any indication that they wanted to revisit their love and both have moved on amicably, at least in the public eye.
The newly minted R&B singer starts “Alone” by sampling Carey’s first hit “Love Takes Time.”
“As much as I want you back It’s probably better where you at, cause I’m still running the streets, I’m still all in the sheets, having babies, models, and singers, and actresses saying they pregnant by me,” he sings.
Cannon and Carey shocked the world when they married after only knowing each other for six weeks. They met at the Teen Choice Awards in 2005 and in 2008 Carey casted Cannon as the love interest in her “Bye, Bye,” music video. At the time, Cannon was best known as a child star who was transitioning into the career he has today.
Cannon has said that Carey was one of his ultimate crushes. Although they renewed their vowels and built a family, He filed for divorce in 2014. Now after his latest baby announcement, Cannon is reminiscing about his past love.

The new song is surprisingly vulnerable with Cannon finally admitting his faults. Since the launch of his daytime talk show Cannon has been more transparent with his fans. On the show, he was open about the death of his son Zen. Cannon was also quick to apologize to the women in his life after certain comments he made came off insensitive. It is possible that his healing journey has led him to put certain feelings in his music.
Time will tell if love truly takes time for Cannon, but Carey has been in a relationship with Bryan Tanaka since 2016.
