Meet Esther Cole, The ‘Voice UK’ Singer With An Unforgettable Blind Audition

Season 10 of The Voice UK kicked off in 2021 with some incredible young talent. Esther Cole showed off her angelic vocals skills during her Blind Audition of “Let Me Down Slowly.” Check out her performance below and get to know this rising star.
Esther Cole Auditioned For ‘The Voice UK’ With Stunning Song
Esther came to The Voice UK this year with her friend Yana Bing. Though the pair auditioned separately, it is clear that their friendship bond is unbreakable. Yana performed an incredible rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Stupid Love” but failed to turn any of the coaches’ chairs. It was then time for Esther to perform as Yana cheered her on from backstage.
The unique tone of her voice had the coaches hooked from the beginning of the song. They all listened very intently as she hit each note perfectly. After the last note of the song, Olly Murs and Sir Tom Jones both turned their chairs at the same time.

“You have a beautiful, beautiful voice. I thought I don’t want to let this girl go. I couldn’t not hit [the buzzer]. You have a lovely voice” Tom said after the performance. When the judges asked who Esther came with to her audition, she replied that she came with Yana who had just performed. “You should have turned for her,” she told the coaches.
“You’re brilliant and it was beautiful. Last time I had a girl from Cornwall on the show, she won the show – just saying!” Olly said. In the end, Esther chose to be on Team Tom. She joins Mariam Davina, Hannah Williams and Wura Abimbola as Tom continues to add artists to his team. Esther’s audition now has nearly a million views.
She Previously Opened Up About Experiencing Anxiety
Esther is a church worship leader and also a contributor for the site xRhythms. She writes lifestyle pieces such as “What To Do If You’re Not A Morning Person” and “Speaking Openly About Anxiety.” Esther opened up about experiencing anxiety from the ages of 12 to 15. She has overcome this through her relationship with God. “Though there are days when I feel afraid about things, I no longer experience panic attacks, and I’m no longer afraid of being sick everywhere!” she wrote.
The singer from Cornwall is hoping to folllow in the footsteps of the 2019 Cornish winner Molly Hocking. This season, the winner of the show will get a recording contract with Universal’s label UMOD.
If you love Esther’s voice, she actually has one cover on YouTube of “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac with Yana. Though it was posted four years ago, many people in the comments section are complimenting Esther for her stunning audition on The Voice UK this year.
