Luke Bryan Responds To Katy Perry Kiss Controversy

The biggest story that came out of the first week of American Idol last week was when Katy Perry surprisingly kissed a contestant, Benjamin Glaze, during his audition. Problem was that it was Benjamin’s first kiss and he was a bit uncomfortable. This led to a huge controversy where people were accusing Katy of sexual harassment.Â
Benjamin talked to Mel in an exclusive Talent Recap interview and said that he did not feel sexually harassed. Even though he was surprised and made a bit uncomfortable by the whole situation, he did not want to make a big deal out of it. Luke Bryan agreed. He hates that it became such a big story. Luke said,
“It’s unfortunate that stuff like that turns into a story that big. I watched an actual interview where Ben, the kid that was involved, said that he was cool with everything. I gotta back Katy on that.”
It’s true that big, national papers like The New York Times and The Huffington Post wrote about it. I mean, we wrote about it too, but we cover these shows for a living. After talking to Benjamin I felt better about the whole thing. Did Katy cross a line? Yes. Should she lose her job over it? I don’t think so.
