Veteran The Voice coach Kelly Clarkson surely knows that her experience of love is not all heartbreak, it’s also about uncontrollable romance. The pop superstar recently unveiled her tenth album’s second track, “Favorite Kind of High.”

Detailing the exhilarating and provocative chasing stage of romance, Clarkson unveils her newest breezy song, “Favorite Kind of High.” The single arrived on Friday, May 19, following double singles “Mine” and “Me” off Clarkson’s upcoming studio album Chemistry.
“You’re my favorite kind of high / Rushing through me like a fire / And I need you to know / I say I won’t but I do / When it comes to loving you / I have no control,” she sings during chorus.
The track has an accompanying live music video, shot at Los Angeles’ Belasco Theatre. In front of an enthusiastic crowd, the superstar explained that while certain tracks in the album talks her divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, she wanted Chemistry to be about the “whole relationship.”
“One thing I have learned, in a lot of therapy, is that it’s not about just the bad,” she said. “It was a whole thing. It doesn’t mean everything is bad. There’s nothing like that high when you first see someone, and you’re like, ‘Oh s—, I wonder if they’re single.'”
This “sexy-ass song,” as dubbed by Clarkson herself, is not “some sad, I got divorced and my life sucks dumpster fire record.” Rather, “Favorite Kind of High” is an upbeat track that spells out the raw feeling of meeting a special someone.
Fans are Loving The New Music
Clarkson’s fans are evidently hyped and fascinated by this new single. In the comment section of the live music video on YouTube, her supporters have sent their compliments to the singer.
“What a song!! I’m dying!!! My husband and I were so lucky to be there that night… and all i can say is that this WHOLE ALBUM will wreck you. Incredible lyrics, vibe, feel, everything!!” one person wrote.
Meanwhile, some fans are wondering why “Favorite Kind of High” is not skyrocketing in music charts yet. One fan even stated that Clarkson’s fans should be united so the song can up its ranking. However, others believe that Clarkson doesn’t have to prove anything anymore in the music scene.
“I don’t care whether this song is gonna chart,” one fan wrote. “All I know is that this is so good, and there are many people worldwide listening to this song.”
The “Breakaway” hitmaker will be releasing the full version of Chemistry on June 23, via Atlantic Records.
