Kelly Clarkson Postpones Shows Due to Ex-Husband’s Illness
Kelly Clarkson has unfortunately had to postpone more shows in her current Las Vegas residency. The singer took to social media to apologize to fans, explaining that her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock has been ill.
Clarkson announced on social media that she would be postponing the remaining August dates of her current Studio Sessions residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. That includes Friday and Saturday’s shows, as well as shows on August 15 and 16.
“While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them,” Clarkson explained in her statement. “I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.”
This is the second time Clarkson has postponed shows in this residency. She initially postponed the first two dates on July 4 and 5, saying she needed to rest her voice. It’s not clear yet when these postponed dates will be made up for fans who still wish to attend.

Clarkson Was Also Absent from Her Talk Show
Although Clarkson didn’t confirm this, it’s possible that Blackstock’s illness is the reason she was absent from several episodes of her talk show earlier this year. A number of celebrities filled in for her as guest host during this time.
Clarkson eventually returned to the show, but she never shared a reason for her absence. However, a source told TMZ in March that the singer was “completely fine” and dealing with a “personal matter that does not directly involve her.”
She and Blackstock tied the knot in 2013 and share two children together — daughter River Rose and son Remington Alexander. Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock in 2020, and it was finalized in 2022. The singer’s 2023 album Chemistry was inspired by the difficult experience.
