Dancing with the Stars pro Jenna Johnson took to Instagram this week to share memories of her labor experience as she gave birth to her first child with husband Val Chmerkovskiy. The couple welcomed a baby boy on January 10.
Jenna Johnson Shares Labor Story on Instagram
On Monday, Johnson posted a series of photos on Instagram showing her in the hospital while she was in labor. It includes a few funny photos of Chmerkovskiy goofing around during the experience. The slideshow ends with a photo of her holding her baby.
In the post’s caption, Johnson described the emotions she felt as “excitement, fear, pure exhaustion, and so much love.” She shared that she was in labor for about 30 hours, and added that she had “the best support system to get me through.”
“I’ve always appreciated my body and what it’s been able to help me do and create within my craft… but nothing can prepare you for what a miraculous vessel it is and what it goes through during labor,” Johnson wrote.
Chmerkovskiy commented on Johnson’s post, joking, “Who wants to see the video.”

The Couple Still Hasn’t Revealed the Baby’s Name
Johnson and Chmerkovskiy revealed last year that they were expecting a baby boy, but they still haven’t publicly shared what his name is. However, Johnson might have shared a hint about it on Instagram last week.
Johnson posted a closeup photo holding her baby, and it’s clear she’s wearing a necklace with the letter “R” on it. That led fans to speculate that the baby’s name begins with that letter. A popular guess among fans was Roman.
Last year, Johnson told People that she and Chmerkovskiy have had both boy and girl names picked out for years. She shared, “Val actually picked out the name for our boy, so we have it.”
