Jenna Johnson, Val Chmerkovskiy Announce They’re Having a Boy

Dancing with the Stars pros Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy shared a gender reveal on social media over the weekend, announcing that they’re having a baby boy. The couple first shared that they were expecting last month.

On Sunday, Johnson shared a series of photos on her Instagram showing her and Chmerkovskiy shooting confetti. The first first photo is in black and white, but later shots reveal the confetti to be blue. Johnson wrote in the caption, “IT’S A…… BOY!!!!!!!”
“Today we are officially half way there to meeting our son,” she continued. “Saying those words still makes me emotional!! SO EXCITED to be a boy mom.”
Chmerkovskiy also shared photos from the gender reveal on his own account, putting simply a blue heart emoji in the caption. Meanwhile, Johnson promised followers that she would be putting up a YouTube video on Monday sharing more details.
Johnson and Chmerkovskiy got married in 2019. When announcing the pregnancy in July, Johnson also shared that she’s expecting in January 2023.

Johnson Started a YouTube Channel to Document Pregnancy
Earlier this month, Johnson started a new YouTube channel and posted her first video, in which she shared how she found out she was pregnant. She also told fans that she would post a separate video about the couple’s fertility struggles, which lasted for about two years.
Johnson shared that “literally the first time we tried after taking a break, I got pregnant.” She also talked about what it was like telling Chmerkovskiy. Johnson put tiny sneakers in a box along with her positive pregnancy tests.
The dancer also shared a clip showing how her Dancing with the Stars partner JoJo Siwa reacted to the news. “I knew it!” Siwa exclaimed. “Oh my God, I’m gonna cry!” Johnson and Siwa came in second place during Season 30 of the show.
