With her last single “Do We Have A Problem,” expecting to hit number one on the billboard charts, fans are now convinced that Minaj is ready to drop her new album. Her last studio album Queen was released four years ago and was another massive success in her discography.
Minaj seems to be intentional about this new era she has entered. There is a snippet of “Bussin” played at the end of her visual to “Do We Have A Problem.” The continuation shows that she is building an experience with her upcoming project, adding to fan’s speculations. The nine minute video became the fastest most watched video for a female rapper after hitting 10 million views in only five days.
During promotion of her latest single, Minaj has made hints that she is returning to her old ways in how she records music. Fans will know that Minaj has always championed lyrics when it comes to hip-hop. Her outspokenness on the subject has often left her with a reputation of being a mean girl. Still, Minaj is ready to make her return, and with these two back-to-back singles she is doing it the only way she knows how.

Minaj has been out of the spotlight for a while. She took time off to become a wife and a new mom. She made minimal appearances and would make her presence on social media known once in a while. Recently, Minaj has been everywhere from sitting court-side at NBA games to doing Instagram live shows every night. She even made a surprise appearance on The Late Late Show With James Corden. When an artist becomes more visible music lovers know that their favorite artist has something up their sleeves.
Minaj added more fuel to the speculations when a fan asked if the new album would have another alter ego. Minaj answered yes. The rapper is known for creating alter egos on her albums. Chun Li, Barbie Balla, and Nicki Lewinsky are just a few of the egos she has created.
