Reading Time: 2 minutes
Comedy legend and Americaโs Got Talent judge Howie Mandel is returning to his stand-up comedy roots. He will be performing on Wednesday nights at SuperNova Comedy, a live comedy club in Los Angeles, California.
Mandel made his most recent appearance at this club on Saturday, July 24. Before the performance, SuperNova Comedy Club hinted that they were having a special guest for that nightโs performance.
โJust Announced: Weโve added @howiemandel to Wednesdayโs 7pm show along with @sarahkatesilverman Anthony Jeselnik @preacherlawson +more! This show will sell out, go get tickets now!โ SuperNova said in their announcement.
Itโs really great to see everyoneโs favorite Americaโs Got Talent judge returning to his comedy roots this summer. Clearly, heโs keeping busy before the live shows return on August 10.
A Look At Mandelโs Past
Mandel is definitely not a stranger to the world of comedy. He began his career in Yuk Yukโs Toronto in September 1978. At Yuk Yukโs, he became such a hit that he got his first week-long booking as a featured act.
Mandelโs act featured him placing a glove over his head, and inflating it by using his nose. The fingers of the glove extended above his head.
On a trip Mandel took to Los Angeles, he performed at The Comedy Store, known as the greatest comedy club in the world. After his performance he was hired as a regular performer. During this time, he also made guest appearances in the 1970โs-1980โs show Make Me Laugh. He even opened for David Letterman in the summer of 1979.
Mandelโs on-stage humor was simple, and probably wouldnโt be successful in todayโs comedy world. His old style of comedy is so crazy that the name of this show he appeared on, Bizzare, really expresses how his comedy seems to viewers now.
Being a judge on Americaโs Got Talent, and random once-in-a-blue-moon performances definitely help this comedy mogul adapt his sense of humor. If you havenโt gathered that from his TikTok page.
Preparation For Upcoming Tour
On top of Americaโs Got Talent, and SuperNova Comedy Club performances, Mandel also has upcoming shows on Ticketmaster. It seems like this comedy superstar will be getting some rehearsal in before going on a rescheduled tour after Americaโs Got Talent concludes.
We cannot wait to see footage of Mandel at SuperNova Comedy Club in the upcoming weeks. It just seems right that he is returning to his comedy roots after discussing how hard it is to be a comedian during the COVID-19 pandemic on the last season of AGT. Even though, heโs using social media to cope with this feeling, itโs obvious that heโs still eager to get back on the stage.
