‘DWTS’ Fans Shade Gene Simmons’ Guest Appearance

Ever since Tuesday Night’s Hair Metal night on Dancing With The Stars, fans have been discussing Gene Simmons appearance. For those who may have missed the episode, Simmons, known as a member of the band KISS, appeared as a guest judge on the series.
DWTS Fans Shade Gene Simmons For Controversial Guest Judging
Throughout Tuesday night, DWTS fans were quick to comment their opinion on the show’s guest judge. Right away, many questions Simmons’ comments. Simmons particularly complimented women in the competition following each dance.
“This is a brand new experience for me and it’s difficult to look at you and to figure out which one is more hot, hot, hot,” Simmons said to Danny Amendola and pro Witney Carson. “Danny, I’m telling you, you’re right next to somebody, one of the more beautiful women on the planet.”
Following Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong’s Jive routine, Simmons commented on the 24 year old in the same fashion.
“Chandler, you’ve fogged up my glasses. I don’t know what to tell you,” he said. “You move me, not just with your gyrations and so on, but your beautiful face and how you were into the emotion of it.”
Apparently, following the show Kinney was able to laugh off the comments, but Armstrong was disturbed.
“I said, ‘Hold up now,’” Armstrong explained, “I have two little sisters, I heard it. I said, ‘Wait, wait, wait.'”
Fans Think Ilona’s Mix Up May Have Been Because of The Guest Judge
Following Tuesday night’s episode, fans fled to Reddit to share their theories behind this week’s episode. One, is related to Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten’s dance. For those who may have missed it, Maher messed up a portion of the dance, and the judges brought it to light during their commentary.
Due to the nature of Tuesday night’s episode, fans are speculating the mix up was due to Simmon’s guest judging. Many pointed out that the Team USA rugby player began her dance atop the judges’ desk.
“My thoughts are kind of all over the place, but do we think that Ilona hearing Gene making sexual comments about the women (and men?) all night messed with her head given that she started her dance on top of the judges’ table?” the Reddit user shared. “And had to risk him looking up her skirt (which I think he did btw) JUST as she’s starting to gain some confidence in the competition? I think her entire situation is tragic and production was capitalizing on her being agitated and distraught for their own entertainment gains. It’s all just awful. My heart breaks for her.”
Fans responded in favor of the speculation. Many agree that the body-positive TikTok star may have mixed up due to the KISS band member’s commentary regarding women earlier in the night.
“Honestly this is a good theory but i also think she knew she messed up and just got in her head. I hated that they announced her as safe last bc she was already having a rough time like why do that to her?” another user commented. “That seemed a little mean to me tbh. i wouldn’t be surprised if genes comments rubbed most of them if not all of them the wrong way tho.”
