Demi Lovato is not only revamping her biggest hits but also the Daisy Jones & The Six’s soundtrack. The pop star has recently shared a reimagined version of the reel-to-real band’s “Let Me Down Easy,” giving fans a brand-new taste of the song.
Demi Lovato Reimagines “Let Me Down Easy”
The “Heart Attack” hitmaker unveiled her own version of the miniseries’ soundtrack on Friday, August 11. Featuring the same guitar rhythms and harmonies, Lovato showed off her own vocal interpretation of the track.
“I could see us waving in the distance / Like a mirage on sand / That could be us trading secrets / No one else could understand,” she sings.
For those who may not know, Daisy Jones & The Six is a fictional band based on the book (of the same name) by Taylor Jenkins Reid. The novel had a miniseries adaptation of the same title, consequently giving rise to the band’s debut album Aurora — where “Let Me Down Easy” came from.
Amid this release, Lovato gears up for the release of her Revamped album. With this music collection, the pop star records rocked-out versions of her smash hits. The album will be available for streaming on September 15.
Her Rendition Proves the Uniqueness of Her Vocals
Lovato’s “Let Me Down Easy” is a no letdown. In the song, the singer doesn’t fail to impress with her distinct and modulated vocals. Indeed, Lovato recorded a rendition that’s worth every listen for her fans as well as for the miniseries’ viewers.
However, while Lovato’s cover is a great listen, the original version remains to be the more sentimental record. Speaking as a Daisy Jones & The Six reader, the band’s version is the perfect spin to Reid’s awesome lyrics (as it should). This opinion stands so because “Let Me Down Easy” is clearly meant to be a duet between the novel’s protagonists, Billy Dunne and Daisy Jones.
Be that as it may, Lovato’s rendition is every inch an incredible record. If she plans to reimagine other tracks from Aurora, no Daisy Jones & The Six fan will ever complain.
