Giada DeLaurentiis for 'Dancing With the Stars' 2026

Dancing with the Stars Season 35 contestant Giada De Laurentiis took to Instagram earlier this week to share that she was injured while rehearsing for her premiere week dance with partner Alan Bersten.

DWTS Contestant Giada De Laurentiis Injured

This past weekend, DWTS Season 35 contestant Giada De Laurentiis posted an Instagram video updating fans about an injury she sustained during rehearsals. The celebrity chef showed fans her toe, which appeared bruised.

“I had a great day at rehearsals today, but sadly, I busted my toe,” De Laurentiis said in the video. “Take a look. There’s my toe. As you can see, it’s quite purple, and it wraps all the way around. I’m for sure gonna lose my toenail, I think.”

De Laurentiis went on to say that “it hurts,” but added that “we’ll figure it out tomorrow.” As she captioned the post, “You know what they say… no pain, no gain.” De Laurentiis has posted several dance videos since then, so it appears the injury wasn’t serious enough to keep her from rehearsing.

Longtime DWTS judge Carrie Ann Inaba replied to De Laurentiis’ post about her injury by writing in the comments, “You are officially a dancer now.”
