‘Dancing With The Stars’ Couples Who Sparked Lasting Romance on the Show

Every Dancing With The Stars fan knows that the show can inadvertently serve as bridge for romance between pros and celebrities. With the inherent sensation and intimacy that the art of dancing provides, it’s no surprise that some of the cast’s professional relationship transformed into full-blown romance. Yet, not all romantic relationships that began on the show endured the test of time.
Dancing With The Stars Couples Who Found Romance on The Show
1. Britt Stewart, Daniel Durant
During Dancing With The Stars season 31, Daniel Durant and Britt Stewart became a dancing pair. The dancing pro and the CODA actor started off as friends, blooming their relationship into something more as they practiced and performed their routines. Following the show they announced their relationship on Valentine’s Day 2023 when Durant shared a sweet snap of them on his Instagram.
2. Artem Chigvintsev, Nikki Bella
In 2017, Nikki Garcia and Artem Chigvintsev were paired for the show’s season 25. At the time, their shot for love was seemingly impossible as the former WWE star was still engaged to John Cena. They, however, reconnected in 2019 and got to know each other. They eventually got engaged in 2020, welcomed their son Matteo, and tied the knot in Paris in 2022.
3. Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Peta Murgatroyd
Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd were in an on-again, off-again relationship for a few years. Surviving through their lovers’ quarrels, the DWTS pros decided to get engaged in 2015. They later welcomed their son Shai Aleksander and got hitched at Oheka Castle in Long Island, New York. They’re now a family of four with the arrival of their second born, Rio John.
4. Val Chmerkovskiy, Jenna Johnson
Val Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson first met on season 18 of DWTS, where she was a troupe member and he was on his fifth season as a pro dancer. They began dating sometime in 2015 but had a brief breakup in 2016. The couple then got back together and got engaged in June 2018. They married in April 2019 in Rancho Palo Verdes, California, and welcomed their first baby together in early 2023.
5. Derek Hough, Hayley Erbert
Derek Hough first met Hayley Erbert in 2014 when the DWTS judge and his sister Julianne Hough hired Erbert to go on tour with them. They hit it off in 2015 after Erbert joined DWTS season 21, later getting engaged in 2022. The pair later tied the knot in California during the summer of 2023.
6. Daniella Karagach, Pasha Pashkov
Before Daniella Karagach and Pasha Pashkov joined Dancing With The Stars season 28, they met years before that. Sharing their passion for dance, they marked the beginning of their relationship in 2010. They then married in 2014 and welcomed a baby girl in 2023.
7. Kym Johnson, Robert Herjavec
In 2015, Kym Johnson and Robert Herjavec were partners for season 20 of Dancing With The Stars. The pair immediately brewed romance, getting engaged in February 2016 and tied the knot in July of the same year. A couple of years later, they welcomed twins Haven and Hudson.
