Chrissy Teigen Turns Down Show That Now Lilly Singh Will Host But Why?
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Fans of Chrissy Teigen’s humor on social media and in her judging role on NBC’s Bring the Funny would probably love to see her host her own late-night show. As it turns out, Chrissy had the opportunity to do just that, but she turned it down.
A recent profile of YouTube star Lilly Singh on THR (via Vulture) includes a reference to Chrissy potentially hosting a late-night talk show on NBC. Lilly ended up getting the job, and is set to take over Carson Daly’s timeslot at 1:30 am on NBC.
Chrissy Teigen Was Offered A Late-Night Show
It sounds like Lilly wasn’t the network’s first choice to host a show in the timeslot, which The Voice host Carson Daly held for 17 years. Chrissy had apparently passed on the job before they contacted Lilly about it.
THR doesn’t go into any more detail about why Chrissy turned down the gig, and she doesn’t appear to have addressed it, on social media or elsewhere. So we’re left to wonder what her reasoning was behind the decision.
That being said, we love Lilly Singh aka Superwoman and can’t wait for her show to start

Where Else Can You See Chrissy Teigen?
While we may never know Chrissy’s reasoning for turning down the late-night gig, there are certainly plenty of other places for fans to see her. In addition to judging on Bring the Funny, the model also hosts Lip Sync Battle and writes cookbooks.
Recently, Chrissy also signed a multi-series deal with Hulu. She’s teaming up with Chef David Chang for two new cooking shows, Family Style and Eater’s Guide to the World. Not to mention she’ll also star with her mom Vilailuck in a comedic court show on Quibi TV.
When Does Lilly Singh’s Show Premiere?
A Little Late With Lilly Singh will premiere September 16 at 1:35 am on NBC. A week later, you can see Chrissy’s husband John Legend return as a coach on The Voice, September 23 at 8/7c on NBC.
And speaking of talk shows, John’s fellow Voice coach Kelly Clarkson will be hosting her own next month as well. The Kelly Clarkson Show will premiere September 9 on NBC.
