Chrissy Teigen Left Dumbfounded After DNA Test Told Her She Had an Identical Twin

After giving ancestry program 23andMe a try, Chrissy Teigen thought she had a lost identical twin. The cookbook author revealed on Instagram that she began “spiraling” after finding out the DNA result.
Chrissy Teigen Narrates Crazy Ancestral Breakdown Story
In a video posted on Instagram last June 5, Teigen shared that she “paid for some of the upgrades” of 23andMe. She subsequently showed her family tree with a little circle to her initials.
“The first thing that came up after I found out that I was part neanderthal, was this: Identical twin,” she said. “That has to be a joke, right?”
She continued and stated that she texted her doctor upon seeing the result and went far as asking her father to confirm her mother’s labor story.
“I’m literally saying, ‘Dad, hey, did you see come out of mom’s vagina and were there two of me?’ she stated. “He starts laughing, saying ‘No, I was there, there are not two of you!’ I was like, ‘Are you sure you were there?’”
Yet, her father’s memory failed to convince her allegations. Afterwards, the professional model called her sister, who she noted to have gasped when she heard the question.
She Found Out Her Identical Twin was Herself
According to Teigen, at that point, she has already made excuses for her “whole life.” John Legend’s wife was evidently confused and bewildered by the result of the DNA genetic test.
“I’m like, ‘This is why I’m so co-dependent, because my twin was ripped away from me! This is why I always felt something missing and this is why I have addiction issues,'” she said.
However, her sister mentioned Finding Your Roots, a PBS show she participated in that didn’t air. This show attempted to dive deeper into a celebrity’s ancestry.
“They had us take DNA tests, and they put it under secret names so the world couldn’t tell,” she said. “My identical twin was myself. I was matching myself.”
Thankfully, the issue has been cleared: Chrissy Teigen has no lost identical twin but herself. Props to her sister for uncovering the truth.

My sister while pregnant had an ultrasound done as she was larger than expected at this stage of pregnancy. It caught a twin fetus miscarriage which they would not have known about had test not been done. Fast forward 5 years: my niece asks her Mom and Dad, “What happened to the other one”? “Her dad asks the other what?” She says you know, the other one of me! Often things happen that can’t be explained.
Thank goodness there’s only one of her! Such a trash mouth and thinks she’s more than she is!!!
I had a twin sister but when our mom was pregnant she didnt know docs never knew but once I was born 12 mins later my twin sister come busting out they had to caught her in a bucket which was crazy she was my bf from day 1!!!!!!
Chimera twins maybe….Chimerism in humans can occur when a mom is pregnant with twins. If one embryo dies, the other one could possibly absorb its deceased twin’s cells.

I am happy to know that even if it isn’t me Christy is living a good lifestyle and brave enough to tell us all what was going on in her life… what seems like a small thing can be pretty big in someone like her with the pressures to be perfect and look perfect all the time. Love you Christy Teigan ….keep striving for us mixed people who don’t live a lavish lifestyle. I’m proud of u making it in the world….we are not perfectbut we all deserve the best…
I also used 23 and me when it first started. I upgraded a few years ago and now I am my own twin and I am related to my first search. There seems to be no way to correct it. Also I did find out I had a brother I never knew about.
I cannot believe that she would actually think she was a twin seriously? Plus she was getting upset over it all. Why would someone even write an article about this.?
