‘AGT’ Teases 20th Anniversary Special — Live Shows Begin Next Week

'America's Got Talent' celebrates 20 anniversary birthday party

This Tuesday night, NBC is gearing up to air an America’s Got Talent 20th anniversary special. That means fans will have to wait until next week to watch the first live show of Season 20. In the meantime, AGT has shared an early release clip from Tuesday’s special, featuring some fan favorites.

AGT to Air 20th Anniversary Special Featuring Fan Favorites

The 20th anniversary special will kick off with an opening number featuring several popular acts from past seasons of the show. AGT shared an early release clip of their group performance ahead of Tuesday’s episode.

The performance features some epic percussion from The Pack Drumline, followed by the iconic vocals of Season 19 winner Richard Goodall, singing “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor. All the while, Los Osos High School performs an energetic dance routine.

The performance also includes a saxophone solo from Avery Dixon, followed by some soulful vocals from singer Sara James. Then it’s time for roller skating duo Billy and Emily England to do their thing on the stage. After that, acrobat Alan Silva drops down from the ceiling.

What Else to Expect from This Week’s Special

According to NBC, Tuesday’s anniversary special will take a look back at some of the show’s most iconic moments, as former acts talk about their experience. Some of those acts will apparently include Mat Franco, Hans, Terry Fator, Daniel Emmet, and Kodi Lee.

The two-hour special will air on Tuesday, August 12, at 8/7c on NBC. It will also be available to stream the next day on Peacock. Then next week, the Season 20 live shows are set to kick off, as the 44 acts who made it through the audition round begin to take the stage.

The first live performances will air on Tuesday, August 19. Voting will be open overnight for viewers at home, with results being announced the following Wednesday night. Are you excited for the live shows to begin? Let us know in the comments below.
