‘The Voice’ Alum Chris Mann Reveals New Details About His Time on the Show
Shockingly, Chris revealed that people seem to think he competed on American Idol instead of The Voice. He is one of the artists that carried Team Christina throughout the competition. He ended up in fourth place after performing “The Prayer” with Christina Aguilera. Chris performed on a PBS special and toured with The Phantom of the Opera after The Voice.
He was tapped to be a part of The Voice: Neon Dreams concert series in Las Vegas which ultimately ended up getting canceled. After putting out multiple albums and EP’s over the years, Chris turned to posting parodies on YouTube. His channel has amassed over 47 million views since he started posting in 2007. “IDK, they rejected me and then changed their mind 6 weeks later so…” he wrote.
It’s hard to believe that The Voice first rejected someone as talented as Chris. Thankfully, they realized it was the wrong move. One benefit of being on the show even just for one episode is singing in front of the celebrity coaches. Unfortunately, Chris no longer keeps in touch with Aguilera. Aguilera expressed that she felt like the show was a “churning hamster wheel” that became different than what she signed on for.
Despite not keeping in touch with Aguilera anymore, Chris did offer some advice for those who want to audition for The Voice. He told his 62,000 TikTok followers to “pick a genre and go hard.”
