Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani Aren’t Speaking…But It’s Not What You Think

Gwen Stefani recently appeared on a Facebook Live with Food Network’s Giada De Laurentiis, where she revealed some fun tidbits about her life with fellow Voice host Blake Shelton.
When Giada asked if the two vocalists ever sing to each other, Gwen replied: “We’re like we’re in a musical constantly and we just sing. We actually don’t talk to each other. We just sing like a musical and everything we sing is like ‘I love you,’ like it’s pretty much the whole time like how great we are.”

How much do you want to hear their ad-libbed a capella love songs to each other? If they even just recorded it on an iPhone, the track would probably hit the top of the iTunes chart. Giada agreed: “Do you know Snapchat that stuff? Because I’m going to start following you just to see!”
Gwen also said Blake has “good feel for cooking,” but he makes “mostly things that are bad for you. Everything’s fried!”
Blake’s skills must have improved since 2015, when his Christmas turkey went up in flames. Gwen told NME that “Blake had a turkey in one of those smokers and he went out to check on it and the entire thing was on fire! We saved them – we put them in the oven and they turned out really good – but the house almost went down!”
The pair owe their entire relationship to The Voice. They met on Season 7 in 2014 (when they were both married to other people) and announced they were officially dating in November of 2015 — after their divorces.
I have to wonder if the two will get to see each other much this Christmas. Blake appears on The Voice through December 19 and has press appearances for his album Texoma Shore. Meanwhile, Gwen is on her own promotional tour for her Christmas album You Make It Feel Like Christmas. Her family is in Southern California while his is in Oklahoma. And she has three children, aged three, nine, and 11, who undoubtedly require attention during the holidays.
Voice contestant RaeLynn, who toured with Blake earlier this year, gives us some insight: “[Gwen]’s at a lot of the West Coast shows, which makes sense. You can tell they’re very supportive of each other.” So that’s some good news.
Still, it must be difficult for “Sunshine” and the Sexiest Man Alive, especially this time of year. But hopefully this adorable couple will be singing to each other and burning turkeys for many Christmases to come.
