82nd Airborne Chorus Auditions in AGT Early Release
The members of the 82nd Airborne Chorus marched out on stage before introducing themselves to the AGT judges, sharing that they’re from North Carolina and “represent the 19,000 men and women that support and serve the Airborne Division.”
They told Simon Cowell that they’re “here to win,” before explaining that their performance is dedicated to one of their soldiers who passed away, Elijah Crawford, as well as “all of the soldiers that have passed before him.” Cowell called the gesture “very respectful.”
The chorus went on to deliver a joyful performance of “My Girl” by The Temptations, featuring some incredible solos from individual members of the group. The audience clapped along with the performance, and the judges couldn’t stop smiling.

The Chorus Has Performed on TV Before
This isn’t the first time the 82nd Airborne Chorus has performed on television. In December of last year, they appeared on Today to perform “Joy to the World” as part of the Citi Music Series. Before that, they performed “My Girl” on ABC World News Tonight.
During their appearance on the program, they shared that their “main job is to uplift the spirits of our soldiers that fight for our country in different areas of the world.” Now they’re sharing their talents with AGT viewers in the hope of winning the show.
After taking a week off for the Independence Day holiday, Season 18 of the show will return next Tuesday night at 8/7c on NBC. We’ll find out then what the judges thought of the 82nd Airborne’s performance.
