DWTS Contestant Andy Richter Undergoes Knee Procedure
Despite consistently having the lowest scores on the leaderboard each week, Andy Richter and his partner Emma Slater have yet to be eliminated from Dancing with the Stars. Richter has made it clear that he’s determined to keep going, and that determination apparently includes undergoing medical procedures.
On Thursday, Richter took to Instagram to share a warning with his followers about the photo he was posting. The picture shows a syringe full of yellowish liquid, which Richter referred to as his “knee juice.” He also included a text from his wife which read, “Ohh that’s nice!! Ask him if it smells.”
“The first photo is the fluid they just drained out out of my knee,” Richter wrote in the post’s caption. “The second photo is my wife’s reaction to it, a.k.a. why I love her. @theemmaslater said it looked like the juice she just drank, I love her too.”

Richter Has Said He Has ‘Problem Knees’
In September, Andy Richter spoke about joining DWTS and his physical limitations on Conan O’Brien’s podcast, saying, “I’m 58 years old. I got problem knees, all kinds of stuff going on as a side note, too.”
“Also, too, what’s even better is … this was April, I said yes,” Richter said of his choice to join Season 34. “Then in July, they figured out what all the leg pain and stuff had been going on is because I need a hip replacement. So, I need a new left hip.”
Richter will be back in the ballroom on Tuesday night for the show’s 20th anniversary episode. It was recently announced that he and Emma Slater will be dancing a quickstep to “Puttin’ on the Ritz” as covered by Robbie Williams.
