The winner of AGT: The Champions is Shin Lim! Everyone’s favorite slight of hand magician successfully defended his title as AGT champ against the seemingly unstoppable force that is Darci Lynne Farmer.
Last week we saw Shin Lim do an act that was essentially a best of performance. As he said he didn’t have time from when he won the normal America’s Got Talent in December until now to come up with a new act. Fair enough. Luckily for Shin, his tricks are so astounding that they amaze you’ve seen something similar to it before. When he somehow put Howie and Terry’s cards inside Howie’s glass..well, it doesn’t get better than that.
It turns out that Mel and I were wrong. We picked Darci as the winner on the show, though we both thought Shin was going to be in second. You can’t get them right all the time. It’s not that we don’t think that Shim is incredible and deserving of all his success. It’s just that people friggin’ love Darci Lynne. Like, more than any other act in recent memory. Anyone who watches our show also knows that our puppet Talentino is smitten with her puppet Petunia.
At any rate, we want to congratulate Shin for winning. He had some seriously stiff competition and he deserves every accolade.
