‘American Idol’ Will Be Shown On CTV In Canada, Eh
Reading Time: 1 minutes
The title of American Idol makes it sound like it’s only shown here in the United States of America. But what about our neighbors to the north? Lucky for them Freemantle Media has made a deal with the CTV network to broadcast the show in Canada. That way good ‘ol Canada can join in on the fun.
The shows will be broadcast at the same time as they are shown here in the U.S. at 8pm EST Sunday and Monday starting March 11. Idol will be the anchor program on both those nights. Sunday in particular is a desired time slot so clearly CTV thinks they are going to get a nice return on their investment putting it on primetime those days. I’m sure it will do well in Canada since Simon Cowell isn’t involved. The Canadians don’t like rudeness.
It makes sense that Canada would want to get in on the talent competition show world. It’s not like there is a Canadian Voice. They do have Canada’s Got Talent though, which I had no idea. So, what if they have to settle for our own shows. At least it’s something.
