‘American Idol’ Finalists Visit Hometowns Ahead of Sunday’s Finale
The Top 3 contestants on American Idol returned home this week to their hometowns for exciting celebrations. Willie Spence, Grace Kinstler, and Chayce Beckham were greeted with warm welcomes before performing for their fans. All of this will be featured in Sunday’s upcoming three-hour finale event before a winner is crowned.

Grace Kinstler Returns Home To Lakewood, Illinois
After making everyone cry with her performance of Demi Lovato’s “Father” on Sunday Night, Grace Kinstler was voted through to the finale. The early American Idol standout from Lakewood, Illinois received a warm welcome when she returned home. A parade was held for Grace in Crystal Lake and she drove by the high school she attended.
Grace also put on a performance at Lakewood’s RedTail Golf Club, which was filmed for American Idol’s finale episode. This was reportedly a sold-out event as hundreds of fans eagerly waited to see Grace return home and perform.
Around the Clock Restaurant and Bakery in Crystal Lake put out a sign that said: “Grace Kinstler from Lakewood is our fav American Idol.” West Elementary School also put out a sign to celebrate the alum who has been an early standout since her audition. She was honored with a special award from her town that viewers will most likely see during the finale episode.
“It’s absolutely crazy. I can’t believe this many people are here,” Grace said about her homecoming. “I just feel so grateful, I’m just so excited to be here right now.”
Willie Spence Arrives in Douglas, Georgia
Powerhouse performer Willie returned home to Douglas, Georgia this week to a crowd of welcoming fans. Willie was driven by a limo to the Coffee County Courthouse on Tuesday as fans gathered within COVID-19 safety protocols to cheer him on.
Willie was presented with the key to the city by Mayor Tony Paulk. Governor Brian Kemp then declared that it to be “Willie Spence Week” for the entire state of Georgia. Willie has been blowing everyone’s minds this season with his vocal range.
The community all showed their support for Willie by putting signs outside of their businesses and decorating business marquees. Before performing at his hometown concert, Willie told WSB-TV that he is “grateful and blessed” for the love and support of his town.
Willie’s supporters started lining up along the roadway as he made his way to his private concert event on Tuesday night.
Chayce Beckham Performs in Apple Valley, California
On Tuesday, Chayce Beckham greeted his young fans at Vanguard Preparatory School in Apple Valley, California. Hundreds of cheering students welcomed him and were excited to see that he had his guitar in hand. The students chanted his name and flashed supportive signs as he came to perform at an assembly. The assembly followed social distancing rules and had a limited audience.
Chayce also got to plant an apple tree before his hometown performance. While his hometown visit has been kept under wraps for the most part, the American Idol cameras were there to capture all of the exciting events that went down in Apple Valley.
He has been seeing some major breakthroughs on the iTunes charts after releasing his song “23” last week. Chayce was once an underdog in the competition but now we think he is the frontrunner ahead of Sunday’s show.
