American Idol has officially opened auditions for Season 21. The show recently finished up its 20th anniversary season, with Noah Thompson being crowned the winner. Now it’s time to find next season’s champion.

‘American Idol’ Online Auditions Open Now

American Idol was recently renewed for Season 21 on ABC, and the judging panel is expected to return for the new competition. But before they listen to any singers, hopefuls need to take the first step to being featured on the show and audition.

Online auditions are now open, meaning singers can submit videos on the show’s website to be considered for the next season. In order to be considered, you must be at least 15 years old by September 15, 2022.

Even if you’ve auditioned in past seasons, you still need to make a new profile to submit this year’s audition. Other eligibility requirements and rules apply. They can be found through the audition form. You can only submit one audition video per season.

If you’re interested in auditioning, you can sing an original song or an existing one, and feature any part of the song you want. If you’re selected for a callback, you’ll be contacted by an American Idol producer by phone or email before approximately November 1.

Sign Up for Alerts About Virtual Audition Dates

Hopefuls can also sign up for Audition Alerts to be notified about the Idol Across America Virtual Auditions. Unlike online auditions, which can be submitted at any time, these auditions work on a schedule and are likely to be conducted over Zoom.

You may attend a virtual audition and submit an online audition. Last year, dates for the virtual auditions were announced in June. The auditions began in August and were organized by state.

These auditions are the first step to getting to sing for the judging panel and maybe receiving a Golden Ticket to Hollywood. So if you’re interested in appearing on Season 21, make sure you either submit your audition or plan to try out virtually.
