Howie Mandel Hits AGT Golden Buzzer for Murmuration

Murmuration featured 65 dancers who took the stage to perform a fascinating dance routine. The group members began the performance by donning blindfolds, so they weren’t able to see what everyone else was doing.

They proceeded to create incredible shapes and movement with their arms, managing to stay in sync and keep in time with the music as they performed. The judges were wowed by the routine, with Heidi Klum saying they were “amazingly in sync.”

Sofia Vergara compared them to last year’s winner, dance group the Mayyas, who earned her Golden Buzzer. Meanwhile, Howie Mandel said he was “mesmerized” by the act. He liked it so much, he chose to hit the Golden Buzzer, sending Murmuration straight to the live shows.

It wasn’t the only impressive audition from a group act during this week’s show. The episode also featured inspiring singing group Freedom Singers, as well as acrobatic group Warrior Squad. Both acts received four “yes” votes from the judges to move on.

Contestants Solve Rubik’s Cubes in Interesting Ways

Tuesday’s episode of AGT ended with two performances from people who took an interesting approach to solving Rubik’s cubes. First, Ninah Sampaio took the stage to solve a Rubik’s cube while singing. She earned four “yes” votes from the judges.

Then Thomas Vu took things to a dangerous new level, as he solved a Rubik’s cube after being set on fire. The judges and audience were on the edge of their seats as he ran around the stage rushing to finish while the flames burned his sweatshirt. The fire had to be put out with fire extinguishers once he was done.

Thomas received three “yes” votes from the judges to move on. It will be interesting to see Ninah and Thomas compete against each other, depending on how far they make it in the competition.

Simon Cowell Stops Singer Dani Kerr Mid-Song

Tuesday’s new episode also featured a moment we’ve come to expect from AGT at this point — Simon Cowell stopping a singer in the middle of their song. This time, he did it to Dani Kerr, who started off performing an original song on guitar.

Cowell said he could tell how nervous Dani was, and he suggested that she sing another song. She chose to perform a different original called “November.” As usually happens when Cowell asks for another song, Dani delivered a great performance.

Mandel compared Dani to Stevie Nicks, while Klum said she could hear Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus in her voice. Cowell called her “authentic,” saying she has “one of my favorite voices this year.” All four judges voted “yes” to sending her through.
