Recapping their audition experience on America’s Got Talent season 18, Chioma couldn’t help but express his happiness regarding the result of their first performance. Evidently, their Golden Buzzer moment was a moment the drumline will never forget.
“It’s the best moment of my life. It was so amazing. I am so glad and so surprised that I got the Golden Buzzer,” he said.
According to Chioma, he “literally cried” after the AGT host pressed the coveted buzzer. Apparently, it was the eight-year-old drummer’s ambition to snatch the Golden Buzzer on the show. He even told Crews backstage, ahead of their audition, that he dreamt of receiving the award one time. So naturally, when the host granted his wish, Chioma was in tears.
“Thank you Terry Crews from the Atlanta Drum Academy and we’ll see you in the Live Shows,” he said.
So far, Atlanta Drum Academy, Putri Ariani, and The Mzansi Youth Choir are the Golden Buzzer recipients of AGT season 18. These acts will be seen next in the live shows beginning August 22.
They Are Preparing for the AGT Live Shows
On June 15, the dance academy took to Instagram their reaction to the dreamy moment. According to the drumline, they were still in awe of the result of their audition.
“Still taking it ALL in,” they wrote. “Thank you again Mr. @terrycrews and the entire @agt crew!!”
Nonetheless, Atlanta Drum Academy has the advantage against other contestants, since the drumline is extremely successful. They acknowledge that they need to step up their game to prove their worth in the competition.
“@goodgoddrums and @lil_rascalzdrumline , it’s time to go back to the drawing board,” the caption reads.
As Atlantic Drum Academy continues to lend an “inclusive and safe space” for kids to pursue their drumming dreams, they are all ready to introduce their name to the world as an AGT standout. Fans of the competition are surely excited for what’s to come for this drumline.
