Simon Cowell Spends 61st Birthday At Home After Bike Accident

Simon Cowell is celebrating turning 61 today but this birthday definitely looks a bit different than last year. Simon is currently recovering from the electric bike accident that left him with a broken back.
Simon Cowell Is Spending His Birthday With Lauren Silverman And Eric Cowell
Simon will be spending his birthday at his Malibu home with longtime partner Lauren Silverman and their six-year-old son Eric Cowell. The three will surely have some laid back bonding time. After undergoing a six-hour surgery to repair the three broken vertebrae in his back and have a metal rod placed, Simon has been on the road to recovery. The workhorse has still been taking calls and answering emails on his iPad as he has begun to walk again.
This injury has sidelined Simon from appearing on the finale of America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent which he hopes to still make a virtual finale appearance. He has been out of the public eye while recovering so it’s only fitting that he has his birthday celebration at his Malibu home, the same place where the accident occurred in August.

How Did Simon Spend His Previous Birthdays?
Last year for his birthday, Simon took his family to Nobu along with Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon, America’s Got Talent judge Howie Mandel and host Terry Crews. Simon’s ex-girlfriend Terri Seymour also came along as the two have maintained a close friendship over the years.
At one point, Simon even stepped outside for a cigarette and was gifted a bottle of wine by one of his fans that had gathered in the parking lot of the restaurant. He also did plan an extravagant party at La Famiglia restaurant in Chelsea, but the entertainment mogul had to cancel it because of scheduling conflicts.
Simon even sat down with Ellen DeGeneres ahead of his 60th birthday last year. He spoke about his new diet which prevented him from eating cake on his birthday as he was staying away from dairy, sugar and gluten among other things. She also ironically spoke to Simon about wearing a helmet while bicycle riding.
Celebrities are notoriously known for typically going all out for their birthday celebrations. Simon is no different. When he turned 50, he had a lavish party with some of his friends at Dorchester Hotel in London. Some of the guests included a few more of his famous exes or rumored flings like Cheryl and Dannii Minogue.
