Lady Gaga Announces Star-Studded ‘One World’ Special During COVID-19 Pandemic

Lady Gaga and a number of other celebrities are coming together to raise money and keep us entertained during the coronavirus pandemic. On Monday, Global Citizen and the World Health Organization announced an upcoming TV special.
Gaga also announced that she’s raised an incredible amount of money for WHO. Read on to find out who’s involved in the “One World: Together at Home” special, and where you can watch.
Lady Gaga Announces ‘One World’ Special
According to Variety, the special will air across several major broadcast and cable networks, as well as digital platforms, on April 18. The event will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, and Stephen Colbert.
The special’s line-up of performers has been “curated in collaboration with” Lady Gaga. The singer called in to Monday’s WHO press conference to announce that she has helped raise $35 million for WHO in the last week. She said she hoped to raise money ahead of the show and focus on the entertainment.

“It is so important to think globally and support the World Health Organization to curb the pandemic and prevent future outbreaks,” Gaga said during the call. “We want to highlight the gravity of this historical, unprecedented, and cultural movement.”
“We may have to be apart physically for a little while, but we can still come together virtually to enjoy great music,” WHO’s general-director Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in a statement. “The ‘One World: Together at Home’ concert represents a powerful show of solidarity against a common threat.”
Who Will Be Performing In The ‘One World’ Concert?
According to Global Citizen, the “One World: Together at Home” special will feature performances and appearances from Billie Eilish, Lizzo, Chris Martin, Elton John, Idris Elba, John Legend, Keith Urban, Paul McCartney, Priyanka Chopra, Stevie Wonder, and more.

The broadcast will also honor health care workers, sharing their stories and messages of appreciation from the people they’ve treated. Not to mention there will apparently be an appearance from Sesame Street characters.
The show will air live on Saturday, April 18, at 8 pm ET, on NBC, ABC, and CBS, and can also be streamed online on multiple platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Amazon Prime, and Twitch.
