Sofia Vergara Says She Had a ‘Very Interesting and Very Difficult’ Year

America’s Got Talent judge Sofia Vergara recently opened up about what she called her “very interesting and very difficult” year. Over the summer, Vergara and her husband Joe Manganiello announced they were divorcing.
Sofia Vergara Talks About Her ‘Very Difficult’ Year
“I’ve had a very interesting year,” Vergara told People about how she experienced 2023. ”I don’t want to say ‘bad’ or anything like that, but it’s been very interesting and very difficult.”
The actress went on to bring up her divorce and the SAG-AFTRA strike as things that made her year difficult. She also said that she’s witnessed her friends going through difficult times, explaining that “some had to take their kids out of their schools or had problems with their mortgages.”
“It’s not like it’s bad,” Vergara said. “I think all the things are resolving, everything is going to be okay and I’m very excited for next year.”
When asked if she thinks next year will mark a “fresh start” for her, Vergara responded, “I hope so. I don’t know if there’s such a thing as a fresh start at 51. I don’t know if I’m fresh anymore, but I’m just excited.”

Vergara Is Excited About Her New Show Griselda
One of things Vergara is looking forward to in 2024 is her new Netflix miniseries Griselda, which premieres January 25. The actress plays real-life Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco. Vergara shared that she’ll start press for the show after New Year’s.
Another thing Vergara is excited about is her suncare brand Toty. She also teased to People, “I have a lot of projects for next year that hopefully people will love as well.”
Earlier this week, Vergara got together with most of her former Modern Family co-stars (except Ty Burrell) for a reunion. The actress posted a number of sweet photos from the fun get-together on social media.
