‘The Voice’ Recap: Another Coach Steal as Battles Continue

Adam Levine, Riley Green, Kelly Clarkson, and Queen Latifah on 'The Voice' 2026

The Voice Season 30 returned on Tuesday night for another episode of Battles. At the end of the night, coach Kelly Clarkson stole one of Queen Latifah’s artists. This episode also picked up from a cliffhanger at the end of Monday’s show.

Kelly Clarkson Steals Queen Latifah’s Artist on The Voice

Tuesday’s new episode of The Voice Season 30 started where Monday’s episode left off. After Queen Latifah chose Lillie Kolich as the winner of the night’s final Battle, both Kelly Clarkson and Riley Green pressed their buttons to steal her opponent Kayleigh Mathews.

When two coaches want to steal the same artist, the artist themselves gets to choose which team they want to join. At the beginning of Tuesday’s episode, we finally found out which coach Kayleigh chose, and it was Riley Green.

Clarkson was disappointed to not get Kayleigh on her team, but by the end of Tuesday’s show, she was able to steal another Team Queen artist for herself. Latifah paired up Marcus Ladden Jr. and Chari on a duet of “On My Own” by Patti LaBelle — who was also her team’s Battle Advisor.

As it turns out, Marcus and Chari graduated from the same high school 10 years apart and also had the same piano teacher. They both wowed the coaches with their performance, but only one of them could be the winner. Latifah chose to keep Chari on her team. Lucky for Marcus, Clarkson pressed her button to steal him, so he’ll remain in the competition for Cut Week.

As Latifah herself pointed out at the end of the episode, there have only been two steals so far in the Battle round, and they’ve both been for artists on her team. We’ll have to wait and see which artists she and Adam Levine choose to steal later in the season.

Tuesday’s new The Voice episode also featured another Battle on Team Queen, between BigCountry and Luke Cope on a cover of “Tennessee Whiskey” by Chris Stapleton. Latifah ultimately chose BigCountry as the winner of the Battle.

Kelly Clarkson Also Had Two Battles on Her Team

Latifah wasn’t the only The Voice coach with two Battles during Tuesday night’s show. Kelly Clarkson also had two tough decisions to make. First, she paired up Anna McElroy and Johnnie Kapua on a cover of “Some Things I’ll Never Know” by Teddy Swims.

After their performance, Clarkson told the artists that they both made her wish she was up there singing with them. Ultimately, however, she chose Anna as the winner — meaning Johnnie was unfortunately eliminated.

Later in the show, Team Kelly artists Nina Howland and Hazel Gerson went up against each other on a duet of “Breathe Me” by Sia. It was a tough decision for Clarkson, so she said she had to consider the artists’ Blind Auditions in addition to their Battle performances. She ended up choosing Nina as the winner.

Team Riley Artists Sing Maroon 5 Song

There was some interesting crossover happening during Tuesday’s new episode of The Voice, as Team RIley artists Brendan Coulter and Keiyana Osmond performed a Battle duet to “She Will Be Loved” by Maroon 5 — which is of course coach Adam Levine’s band.

After the duo’s performance, Levine said it was an “unbelievable gift” to have people sing his song on the show’s stage. However, the winner of the Battle was ultimately up to Green, who chose to keep Keiyana on his team for Cut Week.

As for Levine’s team, he paired up Luke Curran and Evan James for a Battle on Tuesday night. They performed “Wind Up Missin’ You” by Tucker Wetmore. When it came time to decide, Levine chose Evan as the Battle winner.
