‘Queen of the Universe’ Renewed, Newest Cast of Divas Revealed

Drag queen singing competition Queen of The Universe has recently confirmed its renewal for season two. In addition, another set of talented and energetic divas will grace the stage to prove themselves worthy of the highest title.


Queen of The Universe Will Be Back on TV for Another Season

With the level of success that Queen Of The Universe has attained during its first season, it’s no surprise that it will return for one more season. Hosted by Graham Norton, the series is set to premiere its second season on Paramount+ starting March 31.

“10 international divas, 1 out of this world competition!” their Instagram team wrote.

Aside from the prestige of the title, queens are also in the fight to take home the cash prize $250,000. Additionally, the show claims that the “stakes are higher” this time. With that, they would have to impress Michelle Visage, Vanessa Williams and drag queen Trixie Mattel. Former Spice Girls star Mel B will also be serving as a judge.


Meet The Diverse Pool of Season Two Contestants

The Eurovision­-like competition will feature 10 queens who will sing their hearts out as they represent their beloved countries. Let’s meet them one by one.

1. Aura Eternal (Palermo, Italy)

Making it to the top three of Drag Race Italia season two, Aura Eternal is a known drag name in her homeland. While she has proven her powerful skills within their domestic borders, Aura is now ready to show off her impressive vocal chops as well as her creative looks.

2. Chloe V (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)

Among the queens, Chloe V has perhaps the biggest “stilettos to fill.”  Brazil won last season’s Queen of The Universe. Hence, the “no pressure” sort of mindset may not be as effective.


3. Jazell Royale (Orlando, Florida)

Proclaiming to be more than just a gorgeous face, Jazell Royale is ready to win the show. In the USA, Jazell is popular for her several titles and trendy videos. Yet, in Queen of the Universe, she seeks to make a mark through the awesomeness of her voice.

4. Love Masisi (Amsterdam, Netherlands)

Love Masisi has lived in various countries throughout her “adventurous” journey. In this series, however, he’s proud to brand Netherlands as her home. He’s not at all unfamiliar in the drag scene as he’s already appeared in Drag Race Holland season two. Thus, it goes without saying that there’s an added expectation from him.

5. Maxie (Manila, Philippines)

Maxie is a famous name in the Filipino LGBTQIA+ community, working as an active advocate of gay rights. She’s appeared on TV several times before, although she hasn’t left home to do something as big as Queen Of The Universe before. Now, she’s ready to be remembered as a global singing sensation.

6. Militia Scunt (San Francisco, California)

With her “edgy drag looks” and “soulful singing voice,” Militia Scunt is born ready to slay. This California native is said to be a triple threat with her singing, dancing, and fashion abilities. This fact alone hugely shows that she’s a force to be reckoned with in the competition.

7. Miss Sistrata (Tel Aviv, Israel)

Miss Sistrata was a former soldier in Israel. Today nonetheless, she’s all set to take the stage and showcase that her voice also holds power through music. As a singing drag queen, she aims to “make a mark” in the series.

8. Taiga Brava (Cancún, México)

From the sunny shores of Cancun, Taiga Brava came out of her homeland to make it extremely proud. This drag queen takes pride in her “effervescent personality and unshakeable confidence.” Hence, fans are to see if she possesses the vocal qualities to win the competition.

9. Trevor Ashley (Sydney, Australia)

Trevor Ashley is a seasoned theater queen who’s been in the Australian drag community for over two decades. With her already long list of successes, the upcoming series is nonetheless her first ever televised singing competition. She also came from RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under, so the expectations are high.

10. Viola (Coventry, England)

Viola is the youngest contender in the series, and she’s prepared to demonstrate that age is an irrelevant factor in this matter. This 19-year-old involved herself in the drag scene only a few years ago. Nevertheless, the rising star is determined to show that she could compete against the big names in the community.
