The Talent Recap Show: We Make Our Predictions On Who Will Win ‘The Voice’
Reading Time: 2 minutes
We’ve gotten down to the final four on The Voice and it’s looking like Blake has a HUGE advantage. You know, since three of the finalists are his team. But can team Legend pull off an upset? $50 and Kyle and I’s friendship are on the line, (we made a bet).
Our writer Kyle Montplaisir is filling in for Mel this week and it was interesting to get his perspective since he knows more about The Voice than I think even Adam Levine. The four finalists are Dexter Roberts, Gyth Rigdon, Andrew Sevener (Team Blake), and Maelyn Jarmon (Team Legend). If we look at it statistically, it would seem that Blake has it tied up. Maelyn would have to give the performance of a lifetime to win. This is especially true since The Voice’s core fanbase are country music fans. Maybe the best thing that can happen for Maelyn is that the country vote gets diluted and then she can pull off an upset. You never know.
We also discuss how some of the changes made this season of The Voice didn’t help at all. It did not boost ratings nor make the fans happy with outcome. The show should be careful not to go so country that they alienate fans of other genres. Because, honestly, it’s getting the point where if I didn’t have to watch the show I might tune out. Growing up in Texas I had a lifetime’s worth of country music and I think I’m good for the rest of my days.
