‘The Masked Singer’ Launches NFT Marketplace, The MaskVerse

The Masked Singer universe just got even bigger. The hit Fox show launched its first set of NFTs on Wednesday. Along with this, Fox has created a marketplace called the MaskVerse that will allow fans to sell, buy, and trade the non-fungible tokens.

An NFT is a unique currency that represents an object in the real world. Think of it as a digital version of a collectible item. Some NFTs are worth millions. The MaskVerse be releasing Mask Packs throughout the season. They will cost $20 each. Each pack will include three NFTs with special character cards. Each week throughout Season 6 of The Masked Singer, new collectibles will be released.
To celebrate the launch of the MaskVerse, a free NFT of Miss Masky is available. Miss Masky is the masked crusader giving out clues and spoilers online this season. She has sort of taken on the role that Cluedle-Doo had last season before he was revealed as Donnie Wahlberg. Once you collect a full set of NFTs, you will receive digital prizes. Sometimes, these prizes will translate into real-world gifts or experiences.
In addition to all of these digital experiences, The Masked Singer created a group on Discord. It’s a way for fans of the show and NFT buyers to chat over video, text, and phone calls. Participants will get the chance to vote each week on which contestants they think will get eliminated on the show starting in November. If they correctly guess who is eliminated, they will get the opportunity to buy special Gold Mask Packs.
Will This New Venture Be a Success for Fox?
Soon enough, all of the limited-edition collectibles from all seasons of The Masked Singer will be available. This includes characters like the gigantic terrifying Baby and the salad-looking Mother Nature mask. To join the MaskVerse, you need to create a digital media wallet on Eluvio. This will allow you to purchase NFTs. Once a user completes the entire The Masked Singer character collection, they will gain access to exclusive and rare Crystal Masks.
Fox’s decision to join the NFT space follows other major networks like Viacom, Warner Bros., DC, and Lionsgate. The Masked Singer has an extremely dedicated fanbase that has pushed it to be one of the most-watched shows on Fox’s lineup for six seasons. It will definitely be interesting to see how many fans join the MaskVerse and how many are just confused by the idea of NFTs.
