The Liliac Band is giving us a reason to rock this season on America’s Got Talent. The group of talented young family members will make their debut on this week’s show, and we can’t wait to hear what they have up their sleeve.

You may not have known that Liliac has television experience already. Read on to find out more about this exciting new act before you see them on AGT.

5 Facts About ‘AGT’ Band Liliac

1. Liliac is a family band.

Liliac is made up of five siblings in the Cristea family. They’re three brothers and two sisters ranging in age from 12 to 21. Samuel plays guitar, Abigail plays drums, Melody sings and plays bass guitar, Ethan plays rhythm guitar, and Justin plays keyboards.

The band was created by the siblings’ father Florin Cristea, a music producer originally from Romania. (The name “Liliac” means “vampire bat.”) He gave each of his kids an instrument and encouraged them to make music in their spare time.

2. They struggled when they first started.

The family hasn’t always had an easy time of it. They shared in an interview that they moved to California in 2008 after filing for bankruptcy, and “started life all over.” Their father took them to the Santa Monica pier to perform, and rented a rehearsal studio once a week.

“We’ve gotten a lot stronger going through hard times,” the band shared, “and we thrive and go on, each time getting better, we take lessons every week and we practice countless hours.”

3. They appeared on ‘The World’s Best.’

Remember last year’s international talent competition The World’s Best? Liliac appeared on the show. Unfortunately, they didn’t make it past the battle round, but they still made an impression on viewers. “The best performance that show has ever had,” wrote one YouTube commenter.

4. They performed on the Kiss Kruise.

Last year, Liliac was voted as one of the top three bands to open for KISS on their Kiss Kruise. The cruise ran from October 30 through November 4. The band performed live on the ship, and shared photos on Instagram from their experience.

5. You can help Liliac make new music videos.

In 2019, Liliac released a six-track album called Chain of Thorns. You can listen to it now on Spotify. The band also recently released a single called “Nothing,” and plans to put out another album called Queen of Hearts. They’re asking for fans’ help in raising money to make four new music videos for the album.

If you’re interested in helping out, you can donate on the band’s GoFundMe page. In the meantime, check out Liliac on America’s Got Talent Season 15.
