The battle rounds on The Voice continue and we got a sneak preview of one of the performances tonight, Drew Cole and Miya Bass, singing the Bob Dylan classic Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door. They kill this song.
Drew is kind of folky so this song is perfect for him but don’t count Miya out. Who knew that this song could be done in a soulful manner? Also that singing it in said soulful manner would be this great? This thoroughly entertained me. I was going to watch the show any way, (it’s my job and I’m a fan), but now I really want to check it out. It shows you how great the arrangers are on the show that they can create a version of a song you’ve never heard before and make it truly unique.
Having just written about American Idol and now thinking about The Voice one thing becomes abundantly clear: The Voice has better singers. There is definitely some talent on Idol as well, don’t get me wrong, but they aren’t as polished as the people on The Voice. Not even close. Maybe that’s why The Voice is killing Idol in the ratings?
