What to Know About Beyond Belief Dance Company, the ‘AGT’ Act Led by Alyssa Edwards

Beyond Belief Dance Company is ready to show off their incredible moves on the America’s Got Talent stage. The group is led by drag queen Alyssa Edwards who competed on Season 5 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Fans of this group are excited for these dancers to show the judges what they are capable of.
Alyssa Edwards is Bringing a New Generation of Beyond Belief Dance Company to ‘America’s Got Talent’
Alyssa has had a passion for dance since taking her very first dance class when she was a little kid. Eventually she adopted her drag persona and dominated the pageant circuit. Alyssa finished in sixth place on RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2013. Her constant tongue clicking and witty remarks had everyone completely in love with her. She was invited back for RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars 2 in 2016. She finished the competition in fifth place.
Over time, she has balanced her career as a drag superstar and owner of Beyond Belief Dance Company. RuPaul has even brought Alyssa back to choreograph numbers on other seasons of the show. She is the real deal, and the Beyond Belief dancers are all learning from the best.
Beyond Belief auditioned for America’s Got Talent in 2016. Alyssa did not want to be featured and instead wanted to be more of a director behind-the-scenes while the group performed. She and fellow RuPaul’s Drag Race star Laganja Estranja posed with the group ahead of their circus inspired routine. The Mesquite, Texas native will be coming back to America’s Got Talent in full drag with a new generation of Beyond Belief dancers.
To announce that Beyond Belief would be auditioning for the show once again this season, Alyssa posted a picture with seven of the talented dancers. Their audition will be featured in the second episode of Season 16 of America’s Got Talent and the sneak peek was just released. Alyssa will join the group on stage and will be interacting with the judges before the performance.
The Group Was Featured in Their Own Netflix Series
In 2018, Alyssa and Beyond Belief Dance Company were featured in the Netflix original reality series Dancing Queen. In the show, the students are all a part of the competition dance sector. Everything from how they learn intricate routines down to the costumes they wear is fascinating. There is no shortage of drama from the moms and glimpses into Alyssa’s dating life as Justin Johnson when she is not in drag.
The show only ran for one season, but Alyssa teased in 2019 that there is plenty of more footage that was filmed. She told everyone to “stay tuned” in a Cosmopolitan interview. Fans expect Season 2 of the show to air in the fall but it has not yet been officially announced by Netflix.
Leigha Rose Sanderson, a dancer who suffers from spina bifida will be dancing with Beyond Belief on America’s Got Talent. She was featured with her mother Anjie on Dancing Queen. Leigha underwent another surgery last month after a previous surgery in the fall of 2020. Her sister Kiana was also a featured dancer on the show but will not be competing on America’s Got Talent. Adorable dancer Ainsley who starred on Dancing Queen will be competing with the group on AGT as well.
