Reading Time: 2 minutes
With another week of Britain’s Got Talent auditions right around the corner, the series has shared another preview. This one minute and 30 second preview will definitely leave you wanting to know more about the group.
On May 20, Britain’s Got Talent shared a video from an upcoming group audition. The video features ten singers on the stage, making up the group Welsh of the West End. The short preview features the group singing “From Now On” from The Greatest Showman.
There’s no denying that this group shines on stage. Within the video, the standout singers nail their individual parts, while the group harmony is heard perfectly in the background. Singing a song from such a popular film is always risky, but their rendition is undoubtedly one of the best to hit the Got Talent stage. Not only was their rendition of the song breathtaking, the group made it their own by adding a line in Welsh at the end of the song.
From the preview alone, fans are dying to hear more out of the powerful group. The general consensus between fans is that their beautiful voices are some of the best heard this series. Will the honorary group Golden Buzzer make its first appearance on BGT for this group? Only time will tell.
Who Are The Welsh of the West End?
Many BGT fans quickly recognized this group from their viral videos published in 2020 and 2021. The musical theatre super-group has over 15 million views and 250,000 likes online for their versions of musical theatre classics. The Welsh performers typically sing songs from the Broadway musicals: Les Misérables, Phantom of the Opera and Wicked. Official London Theatre, What’s on Stage, BBC, and iTV featured Welsh of the West End before BGT.
While their website talks about the accomplishments of the group, there is no tale as to how this group came to be. All we currently know is that group member Steffan Hughes began publishing videos of the group in April 2020.
As part of their YouTube cover series, the group published a rendition of “From Now On” from The Greatest Showman in 2020. This video has gained almost 1.5 million views in the past years. Their most recent cover was a Christmas tune published on YouTube in December 2021.
