The Masked Singer returned to FOX after a week hiatus with Spice Girls night. Wednesday night’s cold open began with Rita Ora and Jenny McCarthy singing “Spice Up Your Life” accompanied by multiple masked celebrities.
Taraji P Henson Joins Panel for Spice Girls Night
As a fun added bonus for the night, Taraji P. Henson, also known as Scarab, sat on the judging panel. Since there are five Spice Girls, it only made sense for an additional panelist to guess the masked celebrities.
The first masked celebrity of the night was Crane. In her clue package, she discussed that Mel B took her under her wing, she looks up to her grandmother (who loves the masked singer), and one of the visual clues was a construction hat. Crane went on to sing “Say You’ll Be There” with an intricate mid-song dance number.
Spice Girl night also included additional, United Kingdom themed clues, and Crane’s was a silver train. Panelists guessed that the masked celebrity is either Keke Palmer (Taraji P Henson), Ciara (Ken Jeong), or Maya (Robin Thicke).
Snow Cone Turns Heads At Mention of House Burning Down
The next masked celebrity was Pugcasso, who said he was jealous of being alone in his career, he also mentioned that a stadium sang along to his music, visual clues included the number 132 million, a moon, and a stage. Pugcasso went on to sing “Too Much” before his additional clue was revealed.
The masked celebrity’s additional clue was a piece of paper that said rejected for lead. The singer explained that some people thought he wasn’t a good singer and rejected him. Panelists guessed that Pugcasso was either Pat Monahan (Ken Jeong), Vance Joy (Jenny McCarthy), or Charlie Puth (Rita Ora).
Snowcone was the next singer to take the stage, singing “Wannabe.” In her clue package, she mentions building a home with her husband, then watching it burn down. Her home burning down was a turning point in their life, since their kids came home from the hospital to that home.
The additional clue for Snowcone was a wedding cake with the words “to new beginnings” on it. Panelists guessed that Snowcone was Anna Faris (Taraji P Henson), Heidi Montag (Jenny McCarthy), or Leighton Meester (Robin Thicke).
Snow Cone Gets Unmasked As Heidi Montag
The winner of the episode was Pugcasso, meaning he has been saved by the audience and will be continuing in the competition. This means that Snow Cone and Crane had to perform in a head to head sing off.
After the head to head sing off of “Stop” the audience decided the winner was Crane. Crane will now be continuing in the competition alongside Pugcasso. Before unmasking Snow Cone, panelists locked in their guesses as Leighton Meester (Robin Thicke), Anna Faris (Taraji P Henson), Mandy Moore (Ken Jeong and Rita Ora), or Heidi Montag (Jenny McCarthy).
Snow Cone was revealed as reality television icon Heidi Montag. Additionally, Mr. Snow Cone was her husband Spencer Pratt. This once again makes Jenny McCarthy’s guess completely right.
The Masked Singer returns to FOX on Wednesday, March 4 at 8PM ET. Next week’s theme is Ozzy Osbourne.
