Simon Cowell on 'America's Got Talent' 2025

Britain’s Got Talent Series 19 premiered on Saturday night, as the show’s judges saw auditions from the first group of talented acts. An incredible aerial routine earned Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer during the show.

Simon Cowell Hits First BGT Series 19 Golden Buzzer

The first Golden Buzzer of Series 19 went to Paul Nunnari, an Australian Paralympic athlete who performed an aerial silk routine that blew the judges away. Paul has been a wheelchair user since he was hit by a car at age 11, and he has competed in three Olympic Games.

For his BGT audition, Paul swung in his wheelchair from a red silk hanging from the ceiling of the stage. To make things even more impressive, he even added a blindfold and swung from his neck. The judges were stunned, as KSI actually got up out of his seat and hid behind his chair.

The judges gave Paul a standing ovation, and the audience chanted for them to press the Golden Buzzer. KSI called it “one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen in my life.” Alesha Dixon said that Paul would “inspire millions and millions of people.”

Simon Cowell admitted that he was previously “not a huge fan” of aerial silk routines, but Paul changed his mind. He called the audition “one of the most incredible things” he’s ever seen. Cowell was so impressed, he chose to press the Golden Buzzer to send Paul straight into the live shows.

What Other Acts Impressed the Judges?

The BGT Series 19 premiere featured several other auditions that impressed the judges. That includes one from a group called Celestial, who put on an incredible “Best of British” drone show, which used 800 drones to celebrate everything from James Bond to Big Ben. The judges agreed that Celestial should move on.

Saturday’s premiere also featured a performance by a magician named Fraser Penman, who was born with albinism. Fraser appeared to read Simon Cowell’s mind. The BGT judges gave him a standing ovation for the mind-blowing routine. KSI joked that he must have “superpowers.” Fraser earned four “yes” votes to move on.

Another impressive audition came from Dom & Ninja, a man and his dog who did parkour together, first outside and then on the show’s stage. Amanda Holden called the performance “absolutely fantastic.” Alesha Dixon called it “the coolest dog act we’ve ever had on the show.” Unfortunately, KSI wasn’t impressed after the pair’s entrance. Dom & Ninja still earned three “yes” votes to move on.
