The Voice Recap: Top 12 Live Show
We’ve made it to the Top 12 Live Show on The Voice, and boy, did it not disappoint! Each contestant gave their performance 100%, but unfortunately tonight we find out who will get eliminated from the bunch. Rayshun LaMarr (Team Adam)
Starting the show off with his electric and usual high energy performance is Rayshun from Team Adam. He chose the song When Love Takes Over and danced around the entire stage while singing flawlessly. His energy is infectious and he definitely started the show off on the right foot. Adam says he continues to amp it up every single time and has the beautiful ability to be in the moment.
Kaleb Lee (Team Kelly)
Kaleb chose the song Amazed and knocked this performance out of the park. His authenticity in his voice makes his performances believable. His coach, Kelly, is so proud and compliments him on his passionate performance.
Jackie Foster (Team Alicia)
Showing us her true rocker vibes, Jackie picked the song Toxic by Brittany Spears. Her ability to switch genres so smoothly makes her stand out as a contender. Kelly shouts “I’m dumb” when the host asks for her thoughts, referring to the fact that Kelly let her go earlier in the competition. Luckily, Alicia saw Jackie’s talent and told her she nailed this performance and she loves that she got to show people who she is.
Spensha Baker (Team Blake)
Singing Down On My Knees, Spensha completely nailed this song and had tears in her eyes by the end of the performance. Her ability to tell the story during her performances sets her apart and makes her unique. Adam compliments her by telling her that she’s a singer that has it all. Her coach, Blake, says that he can see the growth in her from week to week. He says that he’s sure the country music fan base heard her tonight and that she is doing exactly what shes meant to do by singing country at The Voice.
Christiana Danielle (Team Alicia)
Wearing all white and singing Say Something, Christiana was glowing last night. Her performance was incredibly raw and real. Kelly complimented her on the low tones of her voice, which truly sets her apart and makes her singing soulful. Her coach, Alicia, says that she just continues to be taken by her through all her dimensions. She even says that there’s not a person in the world that can sing like Christiana. What a compliment!
D.R. King (Team Kelly)
Singing a beautiful rendition of White Flag, D.R. King brought such a unique vibe to this performance, especially at the beginning of the song. Blake compliments him on the different layers of his voice and what he’s capable of doing every time he’s on stage. His coach, Kelly, tells him that she thinks he’s amazing and wants America to vote for him because she wants to hear the record he’s going to make. She says he makes things that are hard look easy.
Sharane Calister (Team Adam)
Singing In My Blood by Shawnn Mendez, Sharane gives a heartfelt and passionate performance. Her past coach, Alicia, says there’s something so special from the moment they saw her in the blind auditions. She compliments Sharane’s resilience and tells her it comes through in every performance. Adam tells her that she has the ability to get people to come with her on the journey and believe what she’s singing, which is what music is all about.
Pryor Baird (Team Blake)
Singing Picking Wildflowers with his usual country meets rock n roll vibe, Pryor absolutely destroyed this song in the best way. Kelly says everytime he sings, it makes people want to have a good time. His coach, Blake, says that he’s like a bulldozer to a song. He loves his ability to be in the moment and create his own version of the song.
Brynn Cartelli (Team Kelly)
Singing Up To The Mountain, we are once again blown away by Brynn’s maturity and raw talent. Alicia says it’s beautiful to watch her follow her daydream and that she has a soul from another planet. Pretty high compliments coming from Alicia! Kelly is in awe of Brynn’s versatility and her incredible taste in music.
Jackie Verna (Team Adam)
Choosing the song I’m With You by Avril Lavine, Jackie created her own country version that was so unique and strong. Her coach, Adam, complimented her on her incredible range and ability to sing a song that is very difficult.
Britton Buchanan (Team Alicia)
Bringing out his old soul hits to the stage, Britton rendition of Small Town absolutely wowed the judges. Kelly says he’s like the coolest 18-year-old she knows, and love that he is such an old soul. Alicia thanks Blake for blocking Adam so that Britton can be on her team. She tells Britton that his destiny is to be here and she can just feel that America is rooting for him because he deserves this.
Kyla Jade (Team Blake)
Singing One Night Only, Kyla wrapped up the night with an incredibly soulful performance that encompassed the idea behind The Voice experience. Her range is absolutely insane, and she made her presence in the Top 12 very clear in this performance. What a way to end the show!
