The Voice Recap: The Final Blind Auditions
And just like that, we’re finished with The Voice Blind Auditions! Night six did not disappoint, and all four teams are officially complete. Before we get excited about the battle rounds, let us talk about who made the final cut.
Genesis Diaz (Team Adam)
This 19-year-old Miami girl chose Kesha’s Praying to open up the final night of the blind auditions and she did not disappoint. Just as the song was about to end, Adam turns his chair and one of the judges follows. Have you guessed who? Yep, it’s Blake! The two battle it out with Blake telling Diaz he wants her to complete his team. However Adam’s advice is to not be a follower, but a leader, referring to Blake’s choice of following his move. Ultimately, Diaz takes Adam’s advice and joins the team!
Sharane Calister (Team Alicia)
Singing Ed Sheeran’s Make it Rain, the 24-year-old Iowa native had both female judges on her side. Getting Kelly and Alicia to turn around after her powerful audition, Calister shared her story of being adopted and separated from her twin until age 18. Tonight, viewers witnessed her now united twin sister cheering her on from backstage. Though Calister restates that she loves and respects both female judges, her heart chooses Alicia.
Dallas Caroline (Team Blake)
This 17-year-old may be young, but her voice turned the heads of (almost) every judge with the rendition of You Were Always on my Mind. Alicia tells Caroline that the only reason she didn’t push her button is that her team is already full and from there the battle between Adam, Kelly, and Blake begin. Kelly and Adam team up to deter Caroline from picking Blake, but ultimately he seals the deal by telling her he thinks she could be the next hero in country music. I mean, what a compliment!
Jackie Verna (Team Adam)
This 22-year-old country singer from Pennsylvania has been through several trials in her young life. After surviving a terrible car accident, it was music that got her through. With Alicia and Blake’s team being full, Kelly and Adam are Verna’s last hope for joining a team. Singing Peter Pan, Adam turns around in hopes of gaining this country artist on his team and although Kelly seemed like she was going to, she ultimately held off. This leaves Verna on Team Adam.
Amber Sauer (Team Kelly)
Singing the song Shape of You, Sauer, an LA resident sings her heart out and gets Kelly to turn around. When Kelly asks who her influences are, she responds simply but powerfully with “you” which was one of the greatest “aww” moments this episode. Kelly says she sings from the soul and that she is so excited to have her as the final member of her team.
Well, that officially completes the blind auditions. Get ready for next week’s battles. Which pair would you like to see battle it out? Let us know in the comments!
