‘The Voice’ Ends With A Shocking Elimination
On last night’s elimination show things were going as planned. The ones you figured would get through did. Brooke Simpson, Addison Agen, Chloe Kohanski were all safe. But when it came down to the last two, that’s when the surprises came.
The last two were Adam Cunningham and, for reasons I will never understand, Janice Freeman. Sure, her Monday performance was not her best but she was still better than a lot of the singers that made it through. As for Adam, he was in the bottom two last week as well. It was clearly time for him to go. So, the two of them went head-to-head in the Instant Save. Adam did Amazed by Lonestar and Janice annihilated Sia’s Chandelier.
And yet, America chose Adam. Why? Because a huge chunk of The Voice‘s audience are country fans and they look out for their own. In this case, a country dude over a soul singer. We’re sad to see Janice go, though we’re sure there is a bright future for her.
Other highlights of the evening include team Adam singing Fleetwood Mac’s Go Your Own Way, team Miley doing Shania Twain’s Man, I Feel Like A Woman, and Jennifer Hudson and Blake Shelton singing his song I’ll Name The Dogs.
Still, Janice. Damn.
