‘The Voice’ Casting Announces Open Mic Live Stream
The Voice‘s Casting team announced they will be expanding their monthly Open Mic nights! Starting this Monday, November 12th, at 3:00pm PT/6:00pm ET, they will be putting on a live stream featuring singers from across the country. The Open Mic started as a way to spotlight up-and-coming artists in Los Angeles. Now, talent from all over will be able to come together for the monthly showcase!
Every month, The Voice Casting selects a different past contestant from The Voice to perform at the Open Mic. This new live stream will start off with a bang because fan-favorite Matt McAndrew will be the featured artist! A member of Team Adam, Matt was the runner-up on season 7 of the show. His covers of “A Thousand Years,” “Take Me to Church,” and “The Blower’s Daughter,” along with his original song “Wasted Love,” propelled him to the final two.
Along with Matt, a handful of talented artists are slated to hit the stage. These artists include Cynnie Jane, TAIINA, Miranda Harrison, Vee, Ghoss, and Synai Obney. And now, with the new announcement, they will be joined by singers nationwide! The Voice Casting will be selecting singers at random to join their live stream and share their voices. In the announcement, they even teased that artists could score a Front of the Line pass for one of the Open Call Auditions! Plus, they’ll get to do it all in front of one of The Voice‘s success stories, Matt McAndrew!
Hotel Cafe has a history with The Voice artists. Many past contestants perform here regularly, including Alisan Porter, Johnny Gates, and Matt McAndrew himself. And it’s not just contestants from The Voice! In fact, Maddie Poppe from the last season of American Idol has a show scheduled there next week. The venue is a great stepping stone for performing in front of a smaller crowd and also doesn’t require specific ticket sales like other venues for up-and-coming artists. It’s a win-win for them to feature artists who could potentially end up on The Voice! It also gives the Casting team an opportunity to see singers they otherwise might miss or look over. Now, with the expanded viewership of the live stream, this could be a real asset for them!
So tune in on Monday at 3:00pm PT/6:00pm ET for the Open Mic live stream!
