‘America’s Got Talent’ Host Tyra Banks May Be Leaving The Show – Who Will Replace Her?
Reading Time: 2 minutes
There may be some shakeups coming to everyone’s favorite talent competition. Word on the street is that America’s Got Talent host Tyra Banks may be looking to move on after the upcoming season 14. The former model and talk show host took up hosting duties from Nick Cannon starting in season 12, and has been a hit with fans ever since.
As AGT’s first (and only) female host, Banks has seen success as both of her Golden Buzzer acts—Light Balance and Zurcaroh, respectively—secured places in the finals as part of the top 3. According to sources close to Banks, the America’s Next Top Model mogul has been thinking about leaving the show for a little while now. The success of Life-Size 2: A Christmas Eve (sequel to the 2000 film also starring Lindsay Lohan) did surprisingly big numbers, drawing in around 1.3 million viewers when it premiered on Freeform December 2nd. That coupled with the deal her production company, Bankable Productions, inked with the TV arm of Universal makes it seem like the perfect time for her to focus her talents elsewhere.

In November, Banks told Access that she “Had a really nice run” on AGT and teased an unknown “massive project” starting in 2019. If the rumors prove to be true, Banks will surely be missed, but I expect we’ll be seeing her onscreen one way or another.
Who To Replace Tyra Banks As America’s Got Talent Host?
That said, the question of who can (will?) fill her shoes remains. With Nick Cannon busy over at Fox hosting The Masked Singer I think we can count him out of the running, but maybe Terry Crews will enjoy his upcoming stint as America’s Got Talent: Champions host and stick around for the regular show. It really is anybody’s guess when it comes to knowing who’ll be running the show going forward, and maybe Banks will come back at some point as a guest judge. Only time will tell.
