Look, I’ve never been on any reality singing show, much less The X Factor UK. I’m sure it is very stressful. But I do know TV production and I know that there is a lot of downtime where they treat you like a king or queen. But from the looks of this video, it seems like all they did was party.
One has to ask the question if all the going out on boats and screaming is good for the old vocal cords. They are there to sing is all I’m saying. They don’t ever show as much actual, you know, practicing as they do the contestants laying by the pool or talking about their feelings and crying. In fact the thing that seems warmed up is not their voices but their suntanned bodies and their tear ducts.
I’m not saying it’s not important for them to blow off some steam. I’m sure they were under a lot of pressure. I’m just saying that a villa in France eases the pain.
