The time has come to separate the wheat from the chaff, in other words the truly great singers from the ones that are only “Aight”. This past Saturday The X Factor UK began its intense boot camp phase to choose who moves on to the dreaded six chair challenge.
Group 1: Kevin Davy White, Anthony Russel, Tommy Kendall, and Rebecca Kelly
This group took on The Beatles classic Let It Be. Not an easy task to try and match Paul McCartney’s perfect pitch vocals. Kevin and Anthony made it through to the next phase.
Group 2: Sam Black, Brad Howard, Elysa V, and El´Tee
They sang Bruno Mars’ Locked Out Of Heaven. They screwed it up so bad that Simon stopped them and had them start over acapela. They were all given a chance, which is not really fair I must say.
Group 3: Georgina Panton, The Cutkelvins, Peter Warwick, and Taliah Dahorto
This group took on Marvin Gaye’s Ain’t No Mountain High Enough. Talk about a challenge. Georgina, The Cutkelvins, and Taliah went on.
Group 6: Aidan Martin, Jodie Woolcott, Liaa, and Caroline Widdows
They sang Symphony, another tricky song. Jodie and Aidan made it through, as was obvious from the performance.
Group 7: Descendance, Russell Jones, Ginny Lemon, and Doctor Woof
This was definitely the most interesting looking group. The judge’s were not fans. Russell Jones made it through to the next round. As for Descendance, the mom, Debye, decided to finally do the right thing and let daughter Hayley move forward on her own.
Group 8: Alisah Bonaobra, Rai-Elle Williams, and Gaga Lord
In a shocking choice, Rai-Elle was allowed to move forward. Alisah was broken hearted after her story of getting to audition thanks to the charity of friends and neighbors. Then they gave her a second chance and she killed it. Alisah moved on to the next round.
Group 10: Grace Davies, Spencer Sutherland, Lloyd Macey and Gregor Coleman
The favorite to win, Grace Davies, sang in this group. She made it through. Actually, they all did. This was definitely the strongest group.
