Martinez has been teasing the new album on social media over the past few days, posting fantastical images accompanied by snippets of songs. On Wednesday, the singer posted a video of an egg hatching to reveal a pink, four-eyed creature.
The post includes the album’s release date, which is March 31. Martinez encouraged fans to visit her website to pre-order the album and get a first look at the cover. The image features the four-eyed creature from the video, surrounded by nature and covered in mushrooms.
“Portals screams death is life is death is life is death is life. A continuous loop. A circle,” Martinez reportedly said of the new album. The project is expected to feature 13 songs and an accompanying film, like K-12.

Martinez Made It to The Voice Top 6
Martinez competed on Season 3 of The Voice in 2012. In her Blind Audition, she sang a unique rendition of “Toxic” by Britney Spears, turning three of the coaches’ chairs. The singer chose to join Adam Levine’s team, and she made it all the way to the Top 6 before being eliminated.
She went on to release her debut EP Dollhouse in 2014, after signing a recording contract with Atlantic Records earlier that same year. The next year, in 2015, Martinez released her debut album Cry Baby. She followed that up with K-12 in 2019.
In 2020, Martinez released an EP called After School, featuring seven songs, including lead single “The Bakery.” Fans have waited over two years to hear something new from the singer, and they only have a little more than a month left to wait before Portals is released.
