Dancing with the Stars couple Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert have officially announced the birth of their first child together. The couple shared in an Instagram post that Erbert gave birth on December 29.
Derek Hough, Hayley Erbert Announce Birth of Baby
On Monday, Hough and Erbert shared a joint Instagram post that features a black and white image of their hands holding their baby’s feet. They announced in the caption that the newborn’s name is Everley Capri Hough.
Although they didn’t specify the baby’s sex in the post and had not announced it beforehand, based on the name, it seems that the couple welcomed a daughter. Fans suspected that Hough had accidentally revealed this during an episode of DWTS last season.
“Every step of our lives has led us to you,” the couple wrote to their child in the caption of their announcement post. “Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed.”
The comments are full of messages of congratulations, including one from Hough’s fellow DWTS judge Carrie Ann Inaba. Hough’s sister Julianne also commented, writing, “Welcome to the world sweet angel Everley.”

The Couple Tied the Knot in 2023
Hough and Erbert got married in August 2023, having started dating in 2015 before going Instagram official in 2017. Just a few months after their wedding, Erbert underwent emergency surgery following a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel.
Hough supported his wife through her recovery and eventual return to dancing in 2024. Then in July 2025, the couple announced that they were expecting their first child together.
Both Hough and Erbert made New Year’s posts on Instagram before announcing their baby’s birth. Hough wrote that 2025 was a “landmark year filled with joy, adventure, love, and more change than I could ever fit into one recap.”
In her own post, Erbert called it “a year of transformation,” adding of the year ahead, “Cheers to new beginnings and to a new year filled with even more magic.”
