‘The Voice’ Season 23 Coach Duets, Ranked
Reading Time: 2 minutes
The Voice recently premiered their exhilarating final episode with Blake Shelton. As part of the celebration, Top 5 singers took the stage with their respective coaches. Here are all of the performances, from my least favorite to favorite.
The Voice 2023 Coach Duets, Ranked
5. Chance The Rapper and Sorelle
My least favorite coach duet of the night was Chance The Rapper and Sorelle’s rendition of “O-o-h Child” by The Five Stairsteps. This duet felt extremely unbalanced, I was waiting for Sorelle’s turn to take the main chorus, but it never came. Instead, this performance felt like Sorelle was just singing back up for Chance The Rapper.
4. Gina Miles, Niall Horan
This song choice was a great pick for both singers, since they were both able to show off their voices. Although this performance wasn’t bad, I would’ve liked to see the two perform a pop song, since they both tend to sway toward that genre. Instead, causal fans were able to see a whole new side of Niall Horan.
3. NOIVAS, Blake Shelton
“Home” by Michael Bublé was a great song choice for both Blake Shelton and NOIVAS. The country rendition of the Bublé tune showed off each singers’ impressive vocal range on the stage. In addition, it was great to see Shelton join NOIVAS in playing the guitar on the stage.
2. D.Smooth, Kelly Clarkson
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Kelly Clarkson is an insanely versatile artist, and that’s exactly what this performance is showing off. Clarkson’s duet of “Slow Dancing in The Dark” by Joji showed off D.Smooth’s insanely silky vocals, while showing off her higher register. This was an 11/10 performance for both artists.
1. Blake Shelton, Grace West
My favorite duet of the night had to be Blake Shelton’s duet with country singer Grace West. Although I’m not a country fan, I can admit singing one of his own songs this was the best send off for Shelton. Grace is such a traditional country singer, that this almost seems like the original version.
