The Voice returned to NBC on Monday, October 20 for the second part of the Battle Rounds. For those who may not know, battle rounds are the second round of the competition, where singers on the same team perform against each other. In the past, coaches paired singers together, but this season singers get to choose their battle-mate.
In case you haven’t seen the Battle Round before, battle advisors are featured in this round of the competition, to help coaches prepare their artists for the next round. This season’s battle advisors are Lewis Capaldi, Lizzo, Nick Jonas, and Kelsea Ballerini. They will aid the teams of Niall Horan, Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire, and Michael Bublé, respectively. Once again, coaches will have one Steal and one Save. Steal makes it so a coach can take someone from another team, while Save makes it so one singer doesn’t go home.
Team Niall Member Gets Saved by Artist in Crazy Twist
The first battle of the night began with Team Snoop members Lauren Anderson and Makenzie Phipps, who sang “Before He Cheats” by Carrie Underwood. Both country artists absolutely killed the song. It was clear that Snoop Dogg had a tough choice to make. Ultimately, he decided to pick Lauren as the winner of the battle. Unfortunately, no coach used their steal on Makenzie.
Up next was Team Bublé members Aarik Duncan and Max Chambers. “Just the Two of us” by Bill Withers and Grover Washington, Jr. The teammates could not have been more opposite, since Max is the youngest competitor on this season. Although Max is young, his time on Broadway helped him learn his voice bottom to top, which ultimately made him the winner of the battle.
Following them was early release duo, Ava Nat and Aiden Ross. The pair, on Team Niall, sang “What a Time” by Julia Michaels, which Horan has a feature on. Horan chose Aiden as the winner of the battle, but Ava’s time on the show wasn’t over yet. Both Horan and Snoop Dogg hit their Save and Steal buttons (respectively). Ava chose to remain on Horan’s team for the Knockout Round.
Snoop Dogg Steals Team Niall Member (After Saying He Was Going To)
The next duo, from Team Reba was Leyton Robinson and Manny Costello. Together, they sang an impressive rendition of “Think I’m In Love With You” by Chris Stapleton. Other coaches complimented the singers, saying that they both had great auditions, but somehow they managed to step it up. McEntire, in the end, chose Leyton as the winner of the battle. Unfortunately, Manny’s time on The Voice 2025 is over, even though Bublé seemed to regret not hitting his Steal.
Also shown on this episode was Team Reba members Conrad Kahlil and Vinya Chhabra. Fans were able to see a glimpse of their battle, but not the whole thing. In turn, fans saw McEntire decide Conrad was the winner of the battle.
The next battle of the night was Team Snoop members Emmanuel Rey and Mindy Miller. They sang John Prine’s, “Angel From Montgomery.” The rendition was beautiful, so beautiful that McEntire reminded Mindy that Snoop had blocked her from turning. Ultimately, Snoop Dogg chose Mindy as the winner of the battle.
Also shown on this episode was Team Niall members Carolina Rodriguez and Kirbi. They sang “You Say” by Lauren Daigle and hit the notes well, but there were moments where it felt like the singers let nerves get the best of them. Horan chose Kirbi, but Carolina’s time on The Voice was not over yet. She will now be joining Snoop Dogg’s team.
The Voice returns to NBC on Monday, October 27 at 8PM ET with the end of the Battle Round. The show is now in a once a week timeslot due to the NBA’s return.
